 10. Petunia: Full sun, lots to use, lots of colors, calibrachoa for baskets, Wave series, tidal wave, easy wave, basket wave, floribunda, need haircuts to prolong season into fall, lots of use habits from trailing to mounding. |
 9. Laurentia Starshine Blue: Sky blue star shaped flowers, 12” in height, serrated edges, season extender, strong grower. |
 8. Gomphrena: Great filler, 12” height, season extender, Strawberry Fields and Quis series best, slow to start. |
 7. Coleus: foliage material for shade. Lots of leaf colors and combinations. Some tolerate lots of sun, seed and cutting type, warm soils, not an excellent season extender. Plant later – likes warm early temperature. |
 6. Zinnia: Lots of them. Star series as smaller flowers and narrow foliage, Profusion series great summer performance, 12-18”. Includes all-America winners. Zahara series similar with nice yellow, Magellan Series taller with lots of colors, specialty 2-3’ selections also. |
 5. Impatiens: mostly for the shade, 10-12” in height, mounding in habit, lots of colors, New Guineas have larger flowers, Fanfare Orchid more sun tolerant, Sunpatiens will be new for the sun, regular watering needed. |
 4. Salvia Blue Victoria: great sun performer, 2-3’ in height, blue spike type flowers, extends OK into the fall, performs season in and season out. |
 3. Begonia: lots of begonias, dragonwing series red and pink, sun and shade 12’ or so, Bonfire for shady containers, Landscape Big series for plantings, big flowers for begonias, not a season extender. |
 2. Alternanthera Purple Night: Spreading to 12” or so, purple foliage, sun to shade, great mixer, no flowers. |
 1. Ageratum Blue Horizon: tall to 3’, strong root system, good season extender, true blue color, sun and shade both. |
